What to Expect
Making the decision to go to counseling can cause apprehension. This is a very normal response to things that are new! However, sometimes the hardest part about choosing to go to counseling is the recognition that you could use some extra support at this time.
When you schedule your first appointment with me, I will email you a few forms to fill out. Just like going to the doctor, I need to gather a little bit of information about you and allow you to consent for treatment.
Our first session will be spent with me getting to know you. My questions will be easy, and our conversation will revolve around who you are and why you are seeking therapy. This first session will allow us both to determine if I am a good fit for your situation. If you or I determine I am not a good fit I will be happy to refer you to some other counselors that may meet your needs more adequately. If you decide to move forward we will schedule further sessions to work on your counseling needs and goals.

My Approach
My goal is to help provide you a supportive environment by giving safe space to reconcile change and difficult or confusing things in your life. I care very much about your story and the challenging things that bring you to share it. I offer a trustworthy, compassionate atmosphere, while helping you navigate or heal. In the room you will find both an active, empathetic listener and someone who will challenge the kind of thinking or behavior that is preventing your life from being all that you desire.
No matter where you are starting from, each person has the capacity for change, healing and growth through the strengths and values you already have. I want to help you identify the things that can become a catalyst for change and a cornerstone for the meaningful, healthy life you deserve. You are worth it. I look forward to meeting you!
